According to NHK News, as of February 14th, around 30,000 households in Ishikawa Prefecture were without water and water outages are still occurring throughout most of Wajima and Suzu cities. About 9,200 homes in Nanao City are also without water.
This makes us to become aware how water is extremely valuable resource in daily life in many different ways.
While enquiring about local needs, Caritas Noto Support Center started with water supply. We are still setting up our system and are only accepting applications in limited areas. This service of water supply for daily use and drinking purpose is for the homes according to their need. A tank of water for daily use is loaded onto a light truck. This water support activity is also a chance to get in touch with lives, and this is the main support activity of the center right now.

One day when there was still snow on the ground, while driving through the disaster area, I couldn't help but see an elderly person walking up to the stairs outside his apartment building, one step at a time, holding a bucket of water in each hand, placing the buckets on the stairs. We are doing whatever we can to provide water support to help ease the lives of the disaster-affected areas.

This may also be a good time to think about how we use water daily. Are we wasting while using the shower or faucet?
